Smart Switches Australia started with a simple thought in 2019 after being locked out of my house when I was living in Mexico.

We had automatic gates at the house which only had 2 controls. As my father was constantly loosing them and having to purchase more, I had a look at the gate control box on the fence. I soon realised that the gates could be easily opened by touching 2 contacts together. As the box was mounted on the inside of the fence behind the iron gates and under an electric fence, I gethered that the easiest solution would be to install a device that could touch the 2 contacts together remotely. The easiest way to do this was through wifi. I ordered something of the sort online and it arrived in a few short days.

I ran the wire from the switch inside the house to the box mounted to the gate and connected the wires to the contacts. The switch connected to wifi immediately and started working through the app AND MY PROBLEM WAS SOLVED!

I then started realising what else coult be done with this technology, and it soon became light switches, water pump starters, power isolators door and window sensors, curtain/ blind openers and much more!
